Cyrus, 61, and Firerose first sparked engagement rumours on September 14 when she posted a series of Instagram images posing behind a waggon wheel with a diamond on her ring finger. “Taking in the moment…” she captioned the image carousel.
Trish Cyrus, Cyrus’ wife of 28 years, filed for divorce in April of this year, marking the third time they had separated. They married in 1993 and have five children: Miley, Brandi, and Noah, as well as Trace and Braison.
The singers published a combined Instagram post on Tuesday that featured close-up pictures of them both in front of an orange tree. Happy Autumn is how the pair captioned the picture.
The diamond ring that Firerose is wearing on her ring finger, however, caught everyone’s attention instead of the changing seasonal flora.
Fans believed that the magnificent diamond was a confirmation of the couple’s engagement, but when contacted by PEOPLE, a Billy Ray representative declined to comment.

Later, a Cyrus family source told PEOPLE that the couple had “been dating for a little while” and verified their connection. The source went on to say “They grew close while working on music together. It is what it is. He and Tish were over before he started dating her.”
